What is Sports Therapy?

Sports therapy focuses on injury prevention and rehab, helping people get their bodies to perform at optimum levels of function and sports specific fitness. We use a variety of therapies to help restore the body, allowing athletes to return to sport sooner without ongoing injury and further harm.

We will provide an assessment and active treatment plan to help prevent further injury, improve technique and return to training.

Sports therapy treatments may include a variety of techniques to relieve pain and promote a faster recovery including massage, mobilisation, hot/cold treatment, stretching, exercise therapy and taping.

What Does Sports Therapy Treat?

Sports Therapy uses hands-on treatment modalities, rehabilitation and patient education to help restore, maintain and maximise movement.  Sports therapy is great for sporting teams and athletes to help their recovery from injury, assist in rehabilitation and strength building and assist in performance optimisation.

What Can I Expect from Sports Therapy?

During an initial consultation, we will collect a detailed medical history including any history of previous sporting injuries. We will then do a physical assessment, a movement assessment and then map out a tailored program of exercises for strength building.

Depending on the type and nature of the injury, ongoing rehabilitation may be required until you return to optimum performance. We will oversee your recovery and provide you with information and exercises that you can use at home to assist with healing.
